Isle of Man Breaks

Breaks to the Isle of Man

Located in the Irish Sea, just in line with the England-Scotland border, the Isle of Man is small but perfectly formed. A fascinating place, heavily inspired by its Celtic origins, breaks in the Isle of Man can be spent simply admiring the scenery or packing in as many culture excursions and thrill-seeking activities as possible. The relaxed pace of the island is perfect for those who want to escape for a bit of peace and quiet away without venturing too far from home.

Attractions in the Isle of Man

The miles of unspoilt beaches are amazing to explore, and make even more amazing photographs, while the walks and cycle paths available ensure you’ll find plenty of outstanding views, and have a chance to see the beautiful wildlife of the island. Inland, the House of Manannan explores the island’s history, while the Gaiety Theatre puts on spectacular shows in a beautiful venue. If you want to just sit back and see the sights on your Isle of Man holiday, jump on the vintage railway and explore the whole island via the steam train!

The biggest day in the Isle of Man calendar is Tynwald Day. Celebrated in July, processions fill the streets and make their way to the Tynwald Hill where the traditional ceremonies take place. Also in July, the Yn Cruinnaght celebrates all things Celtic. If your Isle of Man break falls in June, you can still join in the celebrations, with the Mananan Festival of Music and the Arts.

Going out in the Isle of Man

Going out to eat on the Isle of Man is a relaxing and pleasant experience, especially with the wealth of local produce and seafood on offer across the island. The capital of the island, Douglas, offers a number of great fish restaurants, such as the impressive Velvet Lobster on the North Quay, or the Wellbeck Hotel restaurant, a local favourite for good home cooked food. Douglas is also a popular place for drinks in the evening, with plenty of pubs and bars on the promenade, and a handful of small nighclubs if you want to make a night of it – perfect for letting your hair down during your Isle of Man break!

Jetting off on a short break to the Isle of Man doesn’t have to cost you a small fortune. With easyJet Holidays you can organise a flexible deal that is catered for your plans and budgets and is made even cheaper by booking the flight and hotel together.
