Palma Nova Holidays 2013
One of the first tourist resorts to be built in Majorca, a holiday to Palma Nova will never leave you short of something to do, with three beaches and several theme parks and attractions nearby. This resort is great for friends, couples and families looking for sun and fun without breaking the bank. Find out the top things to do in Palma Nova with the easyJet Holidays guide to the best bits and make this your perfect beach holiday in 2013.
Exploring Palma Nova
During the day in Palma Nova, the resort is buzzing with things to see and do. There are snooker tables, golf and diving lessons for the adults, while the kids are spoilt for choice with crazy golf, water parks and sea lion shows – although there’s nothing to say that the adults can’t join in with these too!
There are three large beaches in Palma Nova, all of which are kept extremely clean so everyone can enjoy the white sand and warm, inviting clear sea. Nearest Magaluf is Son Matias, with Playa de Palmanova in the middle and Es Carregador at the northern end. Each beach has a huge variety of water sports available, from jet-skiing to snorkelling, and the promenade that runs along the back of all three provides restaurants, cafes and bars. Head to the jetty at Son Matias Beach to catch a glass bottomed boat tour or jump on a banana boat.
Palma Nova almost overlaps with its louder neighbour Magaluf, so it is easy to walk along and join in some of the fun there. With two water parks – Marineland and Aqualand - submarine trips and a go-karting track, the fun doesn’t stop. The Western Park combines a Wild West show with a water park, and it features bird displays and a farm. The House of Katmandu is an exciting attraction for children and adults between Magaluf and Palma Nova, with a 4D experience, crazy golf, a museum and the scary Cave of Shivers.
Shoppers can take a trip to the weekly market in Puerto Andraitx and go to Palma City for a wide selection of stores and also plenty of culture, or just walk along the main road and browse in the souvenir shops and boutiques of Palma Nova. If you want to stay right in the heart of it all, check out Hotel Vistanova, which is just 400 metres from the main shopping area.
