On your Barcelona holiday visit the Museu Picassa which features numerous works by Picasso from his early years and his later impressionist-influenced pieces. See the work of Barcelona’s favourite son, Antoni Gaudi in his famous unfinished cathedral, La Sagrada Familia, which sends magnificent spires into the sky and its architectural brilliance captures the culture, religion and faith of Barcelona.
A fantastic place to escape the bustle on a Barcelona holiday is another of Gaudi’s creations: the Parc Guell which is now recognised as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Hugely popular for its winding footpaths, dragon fountains and serpentine benches, it's a great place to enjoy the Barcelona sun with a picnic.
Whilst on holiday in Barcelona, be sure to visit the Montjuïc Hill. Overlooking the city it is also home to the Olympic Stadium built for when it hosted the 1992 Olympic Games. Right next to the stadium sits a brilliant swimming pool complex: Piscines Bernat Picornell, which is the perfect location to cool off after the long walk.
