The village is unspoilt, and has only one building of note – Our Lady Katholiki church, which is decorated with 17th century wall paintings, and is worth a visit.

Afandou has the longest beach on Rhodes and several stretches have been awarded Blue Flag status. One end of the sandy beach has rock pools which are a great attraction when taking children on family holidays to Afandou. There is also a world class golf course just outside Afandou.
